HVAC LOAD MANAGEMENT

& LOAD SHEDDING INSTALLATIONS

HVAC Load Management & Load Shedding Installations

Adding a heat pump, electric HVAC system, EV charger or other large electrical load does not always mean a property needs an immediate service upgrade. Solar Pathways Energy & Electrical installs intelligent load-management equipment that can help control high-demand loads and keep a property within available electrical capacity.

We install and integrate solutions from Siemens and Enphase, selecting the approach that best fits the electrical service, HVAC equipment and overall energy system.

Siemens Inhab Load Manager Installation

The Siemens Inhab Load Manager monitors electrical usage at the service and can temporarily disconnect a connected non-critical 240V load when the property approaches a defined capacity limit. When capacity becomes available again, the device restores the load automatically.

This can be especially useful when a home is adding a major new electrical load but has limited remaining service capacity. Siemens identifies the Inhab Load Manager as an energy-management device that can be used with loads on circuits up to 60 amps and may help avoid unnecessary panel or utility-service upgrades in appropriate applications.

Typical uses include coordinating:

  • Heat pumps and electric HVAC equipment
  • Electric water heaters
  • EV chargers
  • Other large non-critical 240V loads

Enphase Load Control

For properties using an Enphase energy system, the Enphase IQ Load Controller can provide automated control of selected loads through auxiliary contacts. It can shed or restore loads based on system operating conditions, including off-grid operation and battery state of charge.

This is particularly valuable in homes combining solar, battery storage, HVAC electrification and EV charging because the loads can be managed as part of the larger energy ecosystem.

A Better Approach to Electrification

The goal of load management is not simply to turn equipment off. It is to intelligently prioritize electrical loads so a property can add new technology without oversizing every upstream component.

Solar Pathways evaluates:

  • Existing service size
  • Main-panel capacity
  • HVAC load
  • EV charging load
  • Electric water heating
  • Solar production
  • Battery storage
  • Which loads are critical and non-critical

From there, we design a solution that balances reliability, cost and future expansion.
