Removing & Reinstalling Your Solar System After a Hail Storm
After a hailstorm, your solar system might be the only undamaged part of your home. In 2017, a storm with hail just under the size of a baseball caused $1.4 billion in damages in the Denver metro area. Out of 3,000 solar panels at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, only one was damaged.
On July 27, 2022, a hailstorm with golf-ball sized hail caused significant damage in Wellington, Fort Collins and parts of Severance. While your solar system may be incredibly resilient, your roof most likely needs significant repairs or replacement after hail damage.
Unfortunately, the proper removal and reinstallation of solar systems is often an afterthought, potentially causing the system to not function properly, not be watertight or get damaged. It’s very important to protect your investment and let an expert handle the removal and reinstallation of your solar system. We can also work with your insurance to ensure that you’re paying little to no money out of pocket.
